Representatives of the National Agency for Cannabis Control / NACC, led by the Director General Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina, conducted a visit to the Reference Laboratory of the Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR) at the University of California, San Diego, USA.
During this visit, the delegation was closely acquainted with the most advanced technologies and modern testing methodologies, which play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of medicinal and industrial cannabis products. Ms. Pustina emphasized the importance of establishing international partnerships and developing joint research projects with counterpart institutions in Albania.
The Director of the Reference Laboratory, Ms. Ray, expressed her willingness to share the laboratory’s experience and best practices, and assured the provision of necessary support for establishing such a laboratory in our country.
Additionally, the director of CMCR and the experts from the Reference Laboratory shared their experiences regarding the conditions that a laboratory must meet to comply with ISO criteria and international standards.
This experience was considered highly valuable, providing a clear model for establishing Reference Laboratories according to the best international standards in our country, which will ensure quality and sustainable development of the sector.
