The General Director of the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC, Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina, participated in the annual meeting of the Cannabis Regulators Association (CANNRA), held from December 2-4, 2024, in San Diego, California. This important event discussed best practices, challenges, and trends in the cannabis industry, as well as international rules and standards implemented in 45 U.S. states, Canada, the Netherlands, and Malta.
With 270 participants present from around the world, the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC was introduced as the newest member of this association, marking an important step in strengthening international cooperation and the development of a sustainable and regulated cannabis sector in Albania.
Among other topics, the meeting addressed a range of issues related to the federal policies of the United States, Canada, and several other countries, as well as their impact on the cannabis industry, including traceability systems, GMP standards, product safety mechanisms, and the importance of databases for data exchange, which enable the improvement of the regulatory framework and the decision-making process.
Participation in this important meeting served as a valuable opportunity to familiarize ourselves with global best practices and integrate them into Albania’s regulatory process. Our goal is to build a safe, successful, and competitive model in the international industry of cannabis cultivation, processing, and production for medical and industrial purposes.
