In an important step towards advancing scientific research and technological development in Albania, the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC has signed a cooperation agreement with the Polytechnic University of Tirana (UPT). This partnership aims to bring innovation and advanced technology in the control, monitoring, and processing of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes in Albania.

Through this collaboration, the NACC aims to strengthen security and transparency by integrating modern methods and advanced technologies in monitoring this sector. By following the best international practices and the applicable legal framework, and by integrating scientific research and technological development, both parties will work to ensure a regulated, reliable, and advanced environment for all stakeholders involved.

As an important part of this agreement, there will be engagement in joint research projects to modernize monitoring methods, implement intelligent control systems, and ensure high-quality standards at every step of the process. Additionally, NACC and UPT will collaborate to prepare and improve manuals and technical guidelines for the cultivation and processing of cannabis for medical and industrial use.

NACC is committed to creating a safe and controlled environment for the production, cultivation, and processing of cannabis and its products and by-products for medical and industrial purposes, supporting innovation and advanced technologies, and contributing to the economic development of Albania.
