On September 13, 2024, the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC and the Licensing Commission held a successful online meeting with representatives of the counterpart institutions of North Macedonia, including the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (MALMED), the Ministry of Health, the Public Health Institute, and cannabis industry experts from the country.
The meeting focused on an open and fruitful exchange of experiences and challenges faced by North Macedonia in controlling and overseeing the production, processing, and cultivation of cannabis for medical and industrial purposes. The discussions also covered the legal and regulatory framework applied in the country, emphasizing the implementation of the best international standards and practices for improving quality and safety across all stages of medical and industrial cannabis production.
At the end of the meeting, the importance of regional cooperation was emphasized as a key factor for sharing best practices and creating a competitive and attractive environment for the development of this industry in Albania and the region.
