A delegation from the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC, led by Assoc. Prof. Linda Pustina, along with members of the Licensing Commission and representatives from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, as well as the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, conducted a working visit to North Macedonia on October 29-30, 2024.

During the visit, the delegation held productive meetings with key sector institutions, such as the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (MALMED), the Ministry of Health, the Public Health Institute, and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy. During these meetings, the experiences and challenges faced by North Macedonia in controlling the medical and industrial cannabis sector were discussed. The opportunities to address these challenges and exchange knowledge and successful practices, based on the experience of the country, were explored.

A special moment of the visit was the inspection of a medical cannabis production facility, where the delegation had the opportunity to closely observe the technology and standards applied in this sector. This activity helped deepen the knowledge of best practices and the economic potential of this industry.

At the end of the visit, NACC and MALMED expressed their commitment to continue their efforts to strengthen regional cooperation through joint projects and by creating supportive mechanisms that help address challenges and promote this sector.
