Through an important agreement signed by the Director General, Prof. Ass. Linda Pustina, and the Rector of the University of Medicine in Tirana, Prof. Dr. Xheladin Draçini, the National Agency for Cannabis Control/ NACC continues to expand partnerships with key institutions that influence the development of public health policies and practices in Albania.
This collaboration is an important step towards advancing scientific research, developing capacities, and promoting innovation in the field of control, cultivation, processing, and production of cannabis plant products and by-products for medical and industrial purposes.
The NACC is committed to supporting the University of Medicine in Tirana by providing valuable information on modern practices and techniques for cannabis control and processing, as well as knowledge on the most advanced technologies for cultivating and producing cannabis products. This will contribute to the development of educational programs and professional training for the institutions involved in this agreement, as well as for other institutions operating in this sector, equipping them with in-depth knowledge and advanced skills in this field. The support will also include ensuring the highest standards for quality assurance, collaboration in creating certified laboratories, and promoting the application of innovative methods for cultivating, protecting, and monitoring plants.
Both parties are committed to collaborating through joint research projects in the field of public health, which will aim to conduct studies on the therapeutic effects of cannabis products and by-products, as well as the public health impacts related to the cultivation and use of the cannabis plant and its products and by-products.
This agreement represents an important step in strengthening the links between public and academic institutions, as well as engaging other stakeholders within the framework of the quadruple helix, contributing to sustainable development and positioning Albania as an example for the management and regulation of this industry in the region.
