Within this framework, initiatives aimed at harmonizing standards at the global level and establishing a technical, regulatory, and institutional architecture were presented, enabling cannabis-based medicinal products to be understood, assessed, traded, prescribed, and accessed within a credible medical framework.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Particular attention was also given to accountability throughout the medical cannabis supply chain. It was emphasized that market development must progress in parallel with control, oversight, and accountability, as only through such an approach can the sector gain long-term trust from regulatory authorities and the public.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">For Albania, one of the most important lessons emerging from GCRS is that the medical cannabis sector requires a consolidated regulatory and oversight system before it can be considered a credible and sustainable sector. Standards, traceability, supervision, accountability, and safeguards designed to protect the public interest are not secondary elements, but rather the foundation upon which the legitimacy and sustainability of this sector are built.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">In this regard, Albania\u2019s approach reflects the commitment of the Albanian Government to ensure that the development of the medical cannabis sector takes place only through clear rules, strong institutions, and responsible oversight. Such a framework is not measured by the speed of development, but by the state's ability to ensure compliance, protect the public interest, safeguard patient safety, and build sustainable public and international trust.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">For Albania, the challenge is not merely the opening of a new sector, but the establishment of a model that guarantees credibility, control, and public accountability. In this context, the discussions held during the Global Cannabis Regulatory Summit 2026 reinforce the importance of a regulatory model based on standards, traceability, transparency, and interinstitutional cooperation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The future of medical cannabis cannot be built by industry alone, nor solely by regulators. It requires a shared purpose, common standards, shared responsibility, and lasting trust among institutions, patients, healthcare professionals, as well as licensed and authorized operators within the
